2 Teens Arrested After Accused Of Screaming Bias-Related Insults, Spraying People With Water Gun: PD

GREAT NECK, NY — Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday after they were accused of yelling insults and using a water gun to spray people in Great Neck, police said.

On Aug. 8 at about midnight, two teenagers were accused of driving a black Hyundai Tucson southbound on Middle Neck Road while yelling bias-related insults at people walking on the sidewalk, police said.

According to police, the teenagers fled the scene in their car but returned a few minutes later and continued yelling at the same people. When they returned, the teenagers sprayed the people with what was "believed to be water" from a water gun, police said.

Officers responded after the teenagers fled the scene again, and upon investigation, the 17- and 18-year-old boys were identified and arrested, police said.

The pair were charged with two counts of third-degree menacing and two counts of second-degree aggravated harassment, police said.

The teenagers were issued appearance tickets returnable to Nassau County Family Court, police said.
