Cops: Roslyn Heights Woman Attempts Robbery

Incident took place at Roslyn Heights pharmacy.

A Roslyn Heights woman is facing attempted robbery charges for an incident that took place on Thursday at 9:55 a.m. in Roslyn Heights.

Police say Jessica Dieguez, 26, of 127 St. Marks Place, Roslyn Heights, entered the East Hills Pharmacy at 310 Roslyn Road, showed a knife and also passed a note demanding 120 Xanax pills from the pharmacist.

The pharmacist told the woman to leave before calling police. Dieguez fled on foot northbound on Roslyn Road with no proceeds. Police found her at the Roslyn Railroad Station with the knife in her possession. She was placed under arrest without incident.

There were three employees in the pharmacy at the time of the incident, but no reported injuries.

Dieguez is charged with attempted robbery in the first degree, and possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree.

She will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
