Dance Troupe to Perform Classic Greek Dance

A traveling troupe of professional dancers and musicians will present a magical outdoor performance on Saturday July 13 at the Nassau Museum of Art. 

The 3 p.m. performance of "MidSummer Magic: Zeus’ Garden" is presented by Dance Vision NY and directed by Beth Jucovy on the museum's lovely lawn. Much of the work is by or inspired by the legendary dancer and choreographer, Isadora
Duncan, who brought a new naturalism and a classic Greek aesthetic to dance in the early part of the 20th Century. 

  • Cost: Admission is $15; $5 for members, students with ID and children 12 and under; includes museum admission. Weekends only there is a $2 parking fee (members, free).

Greg Tsontakis-Mally is an accomplished artist and photographer who has exhibited widely at colleges, galleries, and small museums and taught art and photography in public schools and colleges for more than 30 years. In mid-July, the Memorial Gallery at Farmingdale State College will be featuring an exhibition of his work from three extended trips to China over the past six years, including portraits and landscapes from China’s “Datong to Dali Trail.”

Looking for something free and fun for Independence Day week: The Billy Joel cover band: "Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot" will perform at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre at Eisenhower Park on Wednesday, July 3.
