Duo Caught Trying To Scam Seniors Out Of Thousands: Nassau Police
Police say the two told the elderly couple they needed to pay for their son's medical bills. Instead, they called the police.

A duo from the Bronx was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say they attempted to scam an elderly couple out of thousands of dollars.
According to police, a 74-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman were contacted at their home in Great Neck by an unknown person saying that they needed to pay $12,000 to cover their son's medical bills in Florida. The couple then called the police.
Police say that Lissette Rodriguez, 35, and Rigo Jose Batista Dominguez, 24, arrived at their home to pick up the money at 2:20 p.m. They were both arrested without incident.

They are both charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny. They are scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
Detectives ask anyone that feels they may have been a victim of a similar crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or call 911.
