Beginning The High Holy Days on a “High” at Great Neck Synagogue

Great Neck Synagogue is the address for those looking to begin their High Holy Days experience on a high note with an extraordinary Selichot program on Saturday night, September 8. Selichot are the series of penitential prayers traditionally recited late at night or early in the morning in the days leading up to Rosh Hashanah and through Yom Kippur, that set the tone for the High Holy Days season.

The program will begin at 9:30pm with words of inspiration from acclaimed lecturer and speaker Charlie Harary, who will speak to the topic, “How To Enter The Book of Life.”  Haray’s presentation will be followed by an uplifting, musical service led by Cantor Ze’ev Kron, which will feature an expert blend of traditional and contemporary compositions and motifs.

Charlie Harary, CEO of H3 Capital LLC, a private equity company based in New York, also serves as Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Syms School of Business in Yeshiva University. He lectures on behalf of many Jewish organizations across the world, and has reached hundreds of thousands of people with his enlightening messages.

Cantor Ze’ev Kron, Israeli-born, is the scion of a proud cantorial lineage. He has served as Cantor of Great Neck Synagogue since 1994, where an entire generation has been enriched by his passionate and knowledgeable mastery of the liturgy.

There is no admission or reservations required. Light refreshments will follow the service.
