First 'Great Neck Idol' Crowned
Jenna Pasqua defeats 50 other performers to win singing title.

Beating out dozens of other performers in a summer-long singing competition, Jenna Pasqua of Great Neck was recently crowned “Great Neck Idol” by the Great Neck Plaza Business Improvement District.
Pasqua, one of 10 semifinalists who performed in front of thousands of attendees during the 28th Annual Great Neck Plaza AutoFest and Street Festival last month, covered Adele's, "We Could Have Had It All" on her way to winning it all.

Maggie Doherty finished second and Eileen Brahman took third place in the first-of its-kind competition.
“The karaoke competition turned out to be one of the most successful and exciting additions to our Summer Promenade Nights and Annual Street Festival,” stated Ron Edelson, Great Neck Plaza BID Executive Director, in a press lelease. “The finals competition received rave reviews by the “Great Neck Idol” participants, local businesses and festival attendees as a wonderful new entertainment feature to our annual event.”

The competition began at the Great Neck BID’s Summer Promenade July 9 and was followed by the August 9 Summer Promenade. A total of 50 men and women of all ages performed. Ten semifinalists advanced last month to the finalist stage to compete at the 28th Annual Great Neck Plaza BID AuotFest and Street Festival for the grand prize and title of “First Annual Great Neck Idol.” Pasqua, Doherty and Brahman were then chosen to compete in the finals later.
Great Neck Plaza BID Board of Directors member Phil Raices, owner of Turnkey Realty stated in a release, “The karaoke competition added a fun and entertaining element to the Street Festival. The karaoke competition attracted more people into our community, who also enjoyed the festivities of the AutoFest and Street Festival and the unique Great Neck Plaza shops, food and merchants.”
