FRENCH ARTIST VERONIQUE BARRILLOT CREATES MURAL FOR NEWLY BRANDED GOLD COAST ARTS CENTER

Only Multi-Discipline Arts School in Nassau County Truly has Something for Everyone, Now called Gold Coast Arts Center

The Gold Coast Arts Center, (formerly known as the Great Neck Art Center), which offers classes in music, art, dance, theater, chess, fencing and ceramics for children, adults, seniors, and teens with special needs, recently had renowned French muralist Veronique Barrilot on site to paint several murals at the entrance to the center to commemorate their recent rebranding initiative.

Veronique, who was just selected by the Parisian Art In the Capital committee to display her work for their 2013 exhibition at the Grand Palais was in town to paint an amazing Statue of Liberty at the 5 Pointz Graffiti & Mural Museum on Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens, which was, along with all the other famous artwork there, recently whitewashed over by developers.

In addition to the acting, improv and musical theatre classes that comprise their theater program, the new Broadway Bound Children’s Theatre provides students with the opportunity to be a part of a full Broadway experience. Participants will audition for a fun and exciting musical, which will include acting, singing, dancing, costumes and scenery. 

Additionally, they have recently expanded their music program to include two new weekly classes, Future Idol, which will teach performance and microphone techniques and Music that Moves You, which will focus on the history of music while students learn to sing and play instruments. They also offer private lessons for a multitude of instruments, including drums, guitar, piano, violin, sax, flute, clarinet/brass, trumpet, as well as voice lessons. Furthermore, they are expanding their adult program to include weekly dance and clay classes, as well as special workshops for photo printing, encaustic painting and ceramics for the whole family on select days. The Arts Center also continues to offer art, dance, ceramics, chess and fencing programs for children and classes for seniors and teens with special needs.
