Fresh Meadows Man Arrested After Rolex Grand Larceny In Great Neck, Placed In ICE Custody: PD

Police say he is subject to removal proceedings.

GREAT NECK, NY — A Fresh Meadows man was arrested after a grand larceny that occurred in November in Great Neck, police said.

Nassau County police said the grand larceny occurred on Nov. 25, 2025 at 3:30 p.m.

Police said 26-year-old Pitu Munteanu entered Phigora Luxury Watches on Grand Avenue and placed a Rolex Cosmograph in his jacket pocket. He then passed all points of purchase and exited the store without paying, police said.

After an investigation, officers located Munteanu in Brooklyn and placed him under arrest on Thursday, NCPD said.

According to police, the Rolex Cosmograph was recovered from inside Munteanu's home.

He is being charged with third-degree grand larceny and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on Feb. 10, police said. NCPD said he was illegally in the U.S. and is subject to removal proceedings. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents took him into custody, police said.
