Furman Film Series Announces Summer Lineup
'Between Us' showing July 11 at Great Neck Arts Center.
Sponsored by the Great Neck Arts Center, in collaboration with The Town of North Hempstead, the 2013 Furman Film Series of motion pictures features several categories of films all year round and hosts post-screening discussions with filmmakers.
“This film series is another great way to promote and support the arts in the Town of North Hempstead. These thought-provoking films and opportunities for discussion with filmmakers expose our residents to exciting cultural experiences right in their own hometown,” North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman said.
All films featured in this year’s Furman Film Series will be played at Clearview Squire Cinemas at 115 Middle Neck Rd. at 7:30 p.m. The films include:
- July 11: “Between Us,” starring Julia Stiles and Taye Diggs
- July 25: “In God We Trust," an Official Selection of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival
- August 8: “Shun Li and the Poet, winner, Best First Feature at the London BFI Film Festival
- August 22: “Haute Cuisine," official Selection, 2013 Tribeca Film Festival
