Great Neck Among Best Places to Start a Business in New York
New rankings put several Long Island communities in the top places for starting a business in the state.

Great Neck is the No. 67 best place to start a business in New York State, according to a new ranking released Monday by NerdWallet.
The site analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau to rank the business climate and economic health of 83 New York communities. NerdWallet restricted their analysis to areas with populations above 5,000.

According to NerdWallet, Great Neck has a population of 10,028 and 1,564 businesses. The average reported revenue for each business was $388,486.
The top 10 communities were:
1. Suffern
2. Garden City
3. Mineola
4. Glens Falls
5. Harrison
6. White Plains
7. Ithaca
8. Rockville Centre
9. Mount Kisco
10. Watertown
Other Long Island communities with high rankings included Glen Cove, Patchogue, Lynbrook, Floral Park, Lindenhurst, Valley Stream, and Long Beach. Read the full report here.
