There are so many sports out in the Great Neck area, it can be a full-time job just sifting through all of the action. Luckily, you have Patch and we will get you caught up in one convenient place each week.
Here’s what the local Great Neck teams have been up to this week.
Great Neck North:
Baseball: Great Neck North lost their first game of the season by a score of 11-0 to New Hyde Park. The offense was led by Anthony Simone who drove in four runs. Schreiber took the loss for GNN.

Boys Lacrosse: Great Neck North defeated St. Mary’s by a score of 10-9 on March 20. The star of the game was Evan Dorman who scored a career-high six goals including the game-winner with 2:25 remaining.
In their next game against St. Dominick’s they won by a score of 11-3. Robert Campbell led the scoring with four goals. Desmond Scanlon added three goals and two assists.

Girls Lacrosse: In their only game of the season so far, Great Neck North was defeated by Herricks by the score of 16-5. Alison Kate and Sabrina Telmo combined for nine of those goals.
Great Neck South:
Boys Lacrosse: Great Neck South defeated Wheatley in their first game of the season on March 21 by a score of 14-5. Vincent Patrey amassed an incredible performance as he tallied eight goals and two assists. Not to be outdone, Jared Greben added three goals and two assists of his own.
In their second game however, they were defeated by St. Mary’s by a score of 11-4. Marc Giovanello totaled eight saves for Great Neck South, but Tim Ahern scored six goals for the Gaels.
Girls Lacrosse: The girls were victorious over Valley Stream District by a score of 19-11 to even their record at 1-1. The offensive attack was led by Sam Rickey who totaled seven goals in the March 22 matchup.
