Great Neck Today: Gorgeous Grandma Day; Summer Concert

1. Today is Gorgeous Grandma Day. Got a picture of your gorgeous grandma? Post it in the Boards section on Patch to celebrate the day.
2. Lantern Theatre presents "Visiting Mr. Green" by Jeff Baron with Joe Dobkins and Nick Mervoch. The comedy/drama follows the evolution of a relationship between an elderly widower and a young corporate executive, who are forced into each other's company by a court order. The play has been translated into 22 languages, with more than 400 separate productions. Eli Wallach starred in the original Broadway production. Showtime: 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Great Neck Library.
3. Great Neck Plaza's Summer concert series favorites Phil Costa's Something Special Big Band are back for another trademark performance of their rousing classic swing music under the lights of Firefighters' Park on Tuesday. The free show starts at 8 p.m.
4. The Town of North Hempstead will present its latest installment of the Young People and The Arts Series Tuesday as part of its Summer Concert Series at Clark Botanical Gardens in Albertson. The free, interactive musical event for children, 'A.M. Hot Peas And Butter," begins at 10:30 a.m.
5. The LIRR is adding trains soon to its Port Washington Branch.This will make some commuting to New York City and points between a little easier.
