In an effort to help Nassau County residents cope with extremely high temperatures and humidity, Nassau County is extending the closing times at all of the county’s major outdoor swimming pools.
The pools at Cantiague Park, Christopher Morley Park, Nickerson Beach, North Woodmere and Wantagh Park will be open until 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
A heat advisory is in effect Monday in Nassau from noon to 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. High levels of heat and humidity are expected with heat index values expected to top 101 today.
