Israeli TV Star Assi Azar Celebrates FIDF in Great Neck
Israeli TV star and activist Assi Azar meets over 200 Long Island Friends of the IDF supporters
GREAT NECK, Sept. 6– Over 200 Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) supporters gathered at the Great Neck home of Merav and Ronny Ben-Josef last night to meet Israeli star entertainer and activist Assi Azar.
Ronny Ben-Josef, Chairman of the FIDF Long Island Chapter and an FIDF National Board Member, hosted the reception ahead of the FIDF Long Island North Shore Gala, which will take place at the Fresh Meadow Country Club on October 30.
Azar, an Israeli TV presenter and creator, radio host, and celebrated activist, was awarded a citation by Mayor of Saddle Rock Dr. Dan Levy. The citation is granted by towns to organizations or distinguished individuals to recognize them for their work within a community. Judi Bosworth, Supervisor of the Town of North Hempstead, was also in attendance, as well as FIDF Long Island Director Pninit Cole, and FIDF Long Island Development Associate Danielle Baxt.

“Speaking in front of a crowd of 200 Long Island FIDF supporters was such an uplifting experience and a great pleasure,” said Azar. “The energy in the room was extremely powerful, and I’m proud to have been able to contribute to such an important cause. And I’m also very appreciative that they were kind enough to laugh at all my jokes.”
“This pre-Gala event brought members from our community to show their ongoing support for the IDF soldiers and engage directly with both active-duty soldiers and the remarkable Assi Azar,” said Ronny Ben-Josef. “We thank them and look forward to seeing this incredible community at the FIDF North Shore Gala on October 30.”
