Jewelry Stolen In 2 Nassau Burglaries, Police Say

GREAT NECK PLAZA, NY — A homeless man who broke into two Great Neck Plaza businesses and stole jewelry and other merchandise has been arrested, police said.

Edwin Aquirre-Aguilar, 43, broke into Ruby Divine Indian Dining On South Middle Neck Road on the morning of Oct. 11 and made off with merchandise, police said. Nine days later, he did the same thing at Marcari Salon on Grace Avenue, police said.

Investigators identified Aquirre-Aguilar as the culprit by watching surveillance camera footage.

Aquirre-Aguilar has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and had an active warrant when he was arrested. He was expected in court Monday in Hempstead.
