We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. From time to time, Great Neck Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.
On Thursday, take a nostalgic look back through wonderful film clips and commentary of the 1950s at the Great Neck Library.
Relive the big news stories, the landmark television programs and the most memorable movies and music in this fun-packed program with film vignettes and fascinating stories by Bob Lippet.
Retired in 1987, Lippet is the former owner of a display advertising company and a past president of the New York Sheet Music Society. He is collecter of rare and unusual film clips from yesteryear.
The event begins at 2 p.m. in the community Room of the library at 159 Bayview Ave.
