Local Silverstein Hebrew Academy Student Competes in Regional Spelling Bee

Silverstein Hebrew Academy recently recognized the accomplishments of Shapirta Feuerman


Silverstein Hebrew Academy recently recognized the accomplishments of Shapirta Feuerman, an eighth grade student, who won her local spelling bee qualifying her to advance to compete against 133 other Long Island students in the written exam portion of the 2017 Hofstra Long Island Regional Scripps Spelling Bee at Hofstra University’s Helene Fortunoff Theater. During the event, held on Sunday, February 5. Feuerman received the Regionals Final Speller award and was one of the 48 elite students to advance to the second part of the spelling bee, the Spelldown, held on Sunday, February 12 in which Feuerman finished in 9th place overall!
