Man Caught Driving Drunk With 6-Year-Old in Car: Police
The arrest was made on Monday morning.

LAKE SUCCESS, NY - A California man was arrested for driving drunk with a 6-year-old child in the car in Lake Success early Monday morning, according to Nassau Police.
An officer on routine patrol noticed a 2011 black Nissan, driven by 43-year-old Gurnam Singh, traveling southbound on Lakeville Road failing to maintain a lane, crossing over the yellow center marking at about 12:30 a.m., police said.
The car then came to a stop, impeding traffic and forcing cars to go around, and the officer conducted vehicle traffic stop, according to police.

The officer noticed the Singh had a "strong odor of alcohol, glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech," police said.
He was placed under arrest without incident.

The child was sitting in the back passenger seat and the child's parents were also passengers in the car, police said.
Singh is being charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a child under the age of 15 under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child, failure to stay in lane and minimum speed violated/impeding traffic, police said.
