A Long Island man faces felony DWI charges after he was pulled over in Lake Success on Friday morning, police said.
Troopers pulled over a gray Nissan Pathfinder for driving 85 mph in a 55 zone on the Northern State Parkway near Lakeville Road when the troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from inside the vehicle at 3:30 a.m., police said.
Troopers said the driver, identified as 44-year-old Jaime Vargas, of Uniondale, had slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes. He reportedly failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.
