Man Charged With Great Neck-Area Home Burglaries: Police

The Queens man was placed under arrest at JFK Airport.

A Queens man was arrested Thursday for committing two Great Neck-area home burglaries in 2014 and 2015, police say.

According to authorities, an extensive investigation of residential burglaries connected Juan Morales, 36, of Astoria, to a 2014 Lake Success burglary and a 2015 Saddle Rock burglary.

On Nov. 1, 2014, Morales entered a Horizon Road home through a rear glass door and removed cash and assorted jewelry, police say. On Dec. 20, 2015, Morales entered a Walters Place home through a rear glass door and removed cash, assorted jewelry, assorted clothing and silverware, police say.

Morales was arrested Thursday at JFK Airport in Queens and was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary. He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.

The investigation was in conjunction with Nassau County Police, FBI Cyber Financial Crimes Task Force and the United States Customs and Border Patrol.
