Man Forcibly Touched Teen Girl In Great Neck: Police

BREAKING: The man was mowing a nearby lawn when he approached the girl who was sitting alone, police say.

Detectives are looking to identify a man who forcibly touched a teenage girl in front of her Great Neck home last week, police say.

According to authorities, the man who was mowing a lawn at an adjacent home approached the 15-year-old girl who was waiting in front of her home for her parents to arrive at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.

The man, who told the girl his name was Jose, began to forcibly touch the teen, police say. The man left the scene on foot after the girl said to stop, police say.

The man was described as Hispanic, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and was wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a New York Rangers baseball cap.

He is wanted for a sex offense.

Police said they did not disclose the name of the street because the incident involved a minor.
