Man Wrote Bogus $12K Check to Great Neck Catering Hall: Police
The man was arrested Thursday, police say.
A Brooklyn man was arrested Wednesday for writing a fraudulent check of $12,220.31 to a Great Neck catering hall last year, police say.
According to authorities, Darnell Smith, 28, had an event at Leonard’s Palazzo, located at 555 Northern Boulevard, on June 15, 2015 and wrote the bogus check to pay the catering hall. Police say the $12,220.31 check was denied due to the account numbers being fraudulent.
Smith was located Thursday at New York City probation and was placed under arrest.
