Midshipman to Make History at Citi Field Wednesday

midshipmen will take center stage at the Mets game at Citi Field Wednesday and for the first time ever at a Major League Baseball game, a Merchant Marine midshipman will sing the "Star Spangled Banner."
Midshipman Natalie Jones, from Altoona, Wis., will perform the National Anthem during the Mets pregame with more than 400 fellow Midshipmen expected to attend Merchant Marine Night at the ballpark.
Also at the game between New York and the Washington Nationals, the Academy’s Color Guard will present the colors in the outfield. The unit includes plebe candidates Connor Keefe of Huntington; Nicolas Hernandez-Sepper of Frisco, Tex.; Christopher Zwick of Henderson, Nev.; Austin Neuman of Cinnaminson, N.J.; Thomas O'Brien of Advance, N.C.; and Anthony Blair of Little Silver, N.J.

The USMMA Color Guard is led by midshipmen officers: Frank Osborne, and assistants Cassandra Walter and Kyle Genther.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m.
