MANHASSET, NY — Property owners in North Hempstead only have a month left to pay the first half of their 2019-2020 school taxes.

Charles Berman, the town's tax receiver, on Friday sent a reminder to residents that the last day to pay first half without facing penalties is Tuesday, Nov. 12. The office is closed Nov. 11 to observe Veterans Day so payments must be postmarked no later than Nov. 12 to avoid penalty.

Credit card payments can only be made online and come with processing rates of 2.35 percent of the tax amount.
