Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Nassau Seriously Injured

Police are searching for a gray or bluish-gray Nissan Rogue after crash Friday morning.

GREAT NECK PLAZA, NY – Nassau Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene after plowing into a pedestrian in Great Neck Plaza Friday morning.

According to police, a 43-year-old man was attempting to cross South Middle Neck Road at Barstow Road when he was struck by an SUV that was heading southbound on South Middle Neck Road at about 9:53 a.m.

The pedestrian, who police have not named, suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in serious condition, police said.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene in what witnesses described as a gray or bluish-gray Nissan Rogue.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
