Police Look to ID Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Great Neck Plaza

Police say the driver of the pictured vehicle killed a pedestrian in September.

Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in Great Neck Plaza in September.

According to police, a 43-year-old man was attempting to cross South Middle Neck Road at Barstow Road when he was struck by an SUV heading southbound on South Middle Neck Road at 9:53 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30.

The driver fled the scene but police were able to capture surveillance footage of the vehicle, which suffered extensive damage to the passenger side headlight and fender area.

The pedestrian was left seriously injured and died from his injuries a week later.

Police believe the vehicle may be a 2009 to 2015 Nissan Rogue that is gray or light blue/gray.
