Report: GN Schools Closed Wednesday

Great Neck public schools will be closed Wednesday, according a News 12 Long Island report.

Electric and phone service remains out for thousands in the area after the storm passed through Great Neck late Monday leaving trees and power lines down throughout the peninsula on Tuesday.

Communication has been difficult with school officials.

The school district website was offline Tuesday in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which has left thousands without power and phone service in the area.

Emails by Patch to district schools Superintendent Thomas Dolan were returned with an error message.
