Long Islanders expressed outrage at the use of a photo of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombing suspect, on the cover of Rolling Stone. Many said the cover glorified a killer, and backed the decision of such stores as Stop & Shop, CVS and Walgreen's, not to sell the magazine.
"Remembering the name of the killer AND not focusing our thoughts on the innocent victims is wrong," said Sara Goldberg Levine on the Port Washington Patch Facebook page.
Levine applauded the stores that refused to carry the latest issue of the magazine. "KUDOS TO THEM!" she commented.
Another Facebook user thanked God that some people still had morals.
