1. Movie Lecture: A lecture of the movie "Yoo-Hoo Mrs. Goldberg" will be conducted by Professor Martin Levinson at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Atria Great Neck, 51 Great Neck Rd. For more information call 516-829-4100.

2. Great Neck Park District: The Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Park District Office, 5 Beach Rd.

3. Fire/Water District Meeting: Manhasset-Lakeville Fire/Water District will meets Thursday at 5 p.m. for discussion of district business. Meetings are held at the District Boardroom Office, 170 East Shore Rd., Great Neck.

4. Did You Know? On this day in 1814, Francis Scott Key wrote the poem which later became "The Star-Spangled Banner?" It's true. According to history.com, the original poem "The Defence of Fort McHenry," was written after Key witnessed Maryland's Ft. McHenry being bombarded by the British during the War of 1812. Just yeasterday, Merchant Marine Academy Midshipman Natalie Jones made baseball history by  at Citi Field.
