Silverstein Hebrew Academy Starts the 2017 School Year
Students and Teachers Eager to Kick off 2017
Silverstein Heberw Academy (SHA) administrators, teachers and staff greeted eager students as they began their first day of school in what promises to be a challenging and rewarding 2017-2018 school year. Increased enrollment, rigorous academic coursework and multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing the learning experience are among the many points of excitement at SHA.
In an effort to prepare SHA students for the ever-changing 21st-century landscape, the Academy has implemented several forward-thinking initiatives. Paramount among these is the integration of technology in every aspect of a SHA student’s education, from coding software, apps and websites to using SmartBoards to help students engage with their daily classroom material. In addition, students are learning how to use iTaLAM as part of a new digital blended learning environment based on the successful TaL AM program, a Hebrew language and Jewish heritage curriculum. iTaLAM is re-inventing the world of Hebrew language and Jewish heritage education by transforming the well-established and highly successful TaL AM print program into an engaging, interactive, personalized, and adaptive digital experience. Elementary school students also received Chromebooks as part of the school’s program to differentiate instruction, helping students develop better Hebrew language skills and further their research and writing skills.
At the Silverstein Hebrew Academy, students are ensured a well-rounded and versatile experience that combines a strong Judaic foundation with an advanced secular education.
