Squire Cinemas Going All Out For 'Oz'
Theater staff dressed as characters this weekend; charity donations being excepted during showings of "Oz The Great And Powerful" in Great Neck Plaza.
Clearview Squire Cinemas is helping to enhance the experience of moviegoers who make their way to see the new film "Oz The Great And Powerful," playing in Great Neck Plaza this weekend.
Since its premier on the peninsula Thursday, cinema staff has been dressed as Oz characters from past and present, including good and wicked witches, the Tin Man, Oz and Dorothy.
"It's a really good initiative that the staff worked hard on in decorating the building and promoting the movie for a good cause," said theater manager Patrick Kennedy.

Clearview Cinemas, Squire's parent company, is promoting the movie with community involvement events, a charity collection for The Lustgarten Foundation to fight pancreatic cancer and photo opportunities for kids planned.
A prequel to the legendary "Wizard of Oz" film, the PG-rated "Oz The Great And Powerful" centers around a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, who is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, where he transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Cheeburger, Cheeburger of Great Neck will cater a showing of the film Saturday at 2 p.m.
Regular box office admission prices apply: 3D prices: $15 for adults, $12.25 for children, $13.75 for senior citizens and $13.25 bargain matinee price. 2D prices: $11.25 adult, $8.50 child, $10 senior citizen and $9.50 bargain matinee.
