STOP Common Core in New York State. Public Forum

A parent advocacy group dedicated to ending Common Core standards in New York State is holding a half-day forum on Saturday, Sept. 21 to inform the community on their mission.

The group of parents and teachers believes that “the Common Core State Standards prematurely claim to enhance the critical thinking skills of students in PreK-12th grade and prepare them for the 21st century global economy.” A Port Chester couple, Yvonne Gasperino and Glen Dalgleish, organized the local forum. The STOP Common Core organization is a state-wide group dedicated to changing the program.
