North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board announced that beginning 2021 the Town will be hosting electronic waste (e-waste) drop-off events for residents in North Hempstead. The program is free of charge and open to Town residents only. These events are being held in lieu of e-waste collection at the Town’s Sunday Residential Drop Off. In order to improve operations at the Residential Drop Off, e-waste will no longer be collected at the Residential Drop Off starting in January 2020. Residents will still be able to dispose of e-waste at the Residential Drop Off on December 13, 2020 and December 27, 2020.

“We are proud to offer this service to our residents allowing them to properly dispose of e-waste,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “Chemicals from e-waste can contaminate our soil and leach into our waterways, so it is important for everyone to be responsible and dispose of it safely. Collecting e-waste also helps achieve the Town’s goals of recycling as many materials as it can.”
