Vigilant Fire Company Hosts Erin Lipinsky Car Wash

Marked Lipinsky's Second Annual Car Wash to Fundraise for Special Olympics

The Great Neck Vigilant Engine and Hook & Ladder Co., Inc. (Vigilant Fire Company) recently hosted Erin Lipinsky’s second annual car wash to raise money for the New York State Special Olympics. Vigilant Fire Company members and local officials–-including County Legislator Ellen Birnbaum, Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Town Councilwoman Lee Seeman and Town Councilwoman Anna Kaplan –-were in attendance to help Lipinsky wash cars and greet local residents.

“For a second consecutive year, the Vigilant Fire Company is honored to have served as both the host and a sponsor of the Erin Lipinsky car wash,” said Vigilant Fire Company Chief Josh Forst. “Erin’s dedication and support of the Special Olympics has had a resounding impact on our membership. The overwhelming response of our members and the Great Neck community speaks to Erin’s continued commitment to advocating for a cause close to his heart.”

Lipinsky, a Special Olympic athlete, has quickly become a top fundraiser for the organization in the Long Island region–- raising money for the annual North Hempstead Polar Bear Plunge and organizing other local fundraising events. This year’s car wash raised $1,257 which will aid in providing opportunities to train and compete in Olympic-style sports.
