Vigilant Hosts Booth at Street Festival During National Fire Prevention

Booth Held at 33rd Annual United Capital Corp. Village of Great Neck Plaza AutoFest and Street Festival

The Great Neck Vigilant Engine and Hook & Ladder Co., Inc. (Vigilant Fire Company) recently hosted a booth at the 33rd Annual United Capital Corp. Village of Great Neck Plaza AutoFest and Street Festival. Vigilant Fire Company members came together with the Great Neck community to discuss fire prevention and fire safety precautions.

The Company’s presence at the Street Festival marked the end of National Fire Prevention Week. Vigilant members spoke with residents regarding the importance of having an escape plan, reinforcing the week’s theme—“Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” Members discussed the significance of developing a fire escape map, practicing fire drills at least twice a year and making sure children are aware of their most convenient escape route.

The Vigilant Fire Company continues to serve as a community partner—while members aren’t responding to fire and EMS calls, they take the time to educate the community on critical fire safety matters.
