Village Green Park's Ice Skating Rink To Close Jan. 12

GREAT NECK, NY —In a little more than a week, the outdoor ice skating rink in the Village Green Park will close for the season. According to Great Neck officials, it's scheduled to officially close on Jan. 12.

Right before it closes for the season, however, families and their children can take part in two, fun upcoming events. They are:

TRY-HOCKEY-FOR-FREE DAY: Saturday, Jan. 11, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Children (ages 5-12) are encouraged to join Village Green Park on the ice as it partners with the New York Rangers for its very first outdoor "Try-Hockey-for-Free" event. Be sure to register online today to secure your spot.

SKATE SCHOOL SHOWCASE: Sunday, Jan. 12, 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

  • Come out to cheer on and support the up & coming Skate School talent as they perform during the Village Green Park's "Lights and Ice" showcase in celebration of National Skate Month!

From now until Jan. 12, residents can also enjoy ice skating, winter igloos, fire pits, food/beverages and more.
