Woman Seriously Hurt in 3-Car LIE Crash
The crash occurred Thursday night, police say.
A woman is in serious condition after she was involved in a 3-car crash on the Long Island Expressway in Lake Success on Thursday night, police say.
According to authorities, a 2003 Acura was traveling westbound on the LIE at Exit 32 when it suddenly stopped in the lane and was rear ended by a 2001 Acura, which was then rear ended by a 2010 Toyota at 11:49 p.m.
The crash caused the 43-year-old woman, who was unrestrained in the Toyota, to be thrust forward and strike the interior the car, rendering her unconscious, police say.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in serious condition. No other injuries were reported and police do not suspect criminality.
All three vehicles were impounded at the scene for brake and safety inspections.
