Cops Nab Robber Who Sexually Abused Woman In Great Neck: Police
The incident occurred last week, police say.

UPATED Monday, March 13 at 6 p.m.:
The knife-wielding man who robbed and inappropriately touched a woman in Great Neck last week was located and arrested on Sunday, police say.
According to authorities, a 39-year-old woman was walking north on Middle Neck Road when Levar O. Burton, 24, of Amityville, approached her from behind, covered her mouth with his hand, displayed a knife and demanded cash at 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

The woman told Burton she had no money, which caused him to go through her jacket pockets and remove two cell phones, police say. He then proceeded to touch her inappropriately, police say.
The robber fled on foot south on Middle Neck Road after police say the woman tried to bite his hand covering her mouth. Police said she was not injured.

Authorities were notified and the cell phones were later recovered near 429 Middle Neck Road. Police say an investigation led to the arrest of Burton at his home at 10:15 a.m. Sunday without incident. He was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree sexual abuse.
Police originally described the robber as white, thin and 5 feet 10 inches tall. A Nassau County Police representative told Patch on Monday the original description may have been a mistake or a typo.
