• Animal cruelty trial begins for Greenburgh man accused of killing Shiu Tzu (lohud.com) — A Greenburgh man is on trial in Westchester County Court, accused of fatally throwing a small Shih Tzu named Sisi into Manhattan Avenue traffic during a 2024 walk with her owner. Prosecutors say the attack was unprovoked, while the defense argues police improperly influenced the owner’s identification of the suspect, urging jurors to consider the possibility of a mistaken ID.
   

• Knicks, Cavaliers open East finals at Madison Square Garden, where they began with high expectations (castanet.net) — Greenburgh gets a brief spotlight as the Knicks’ practice base while they prepare for Tuesday’s Eastern Conference finals opener against Cleveland at Madison Square Garden.
