⢠āLiberty's Women' marked in Guilderland near farm they kept during Revolution (altamontenterprise.com) ā Guilderlandās newest historical marker, āLibertyās Women,ā now honors sisters Maria and Elizabeth Terpenning, who kept their Westfall Road farm going while their husbands fought in the Revolutionary War. Local historian John Haluska led fundraising after grant options fell through, and a public ceremony later this spring or summer will unveil three new markers at the Bozen Kill preserve parking lot.

⢠Comic book stores around the Capital Region (news10.com) ā One of the Capital Regionās highlighted comic shops sits right in Guilderland at 2555 Western Avenue, giving local fans a nearby spot to browse and hang out. The roundup also maps out other favorite stores across surrounding counties ahead of Free Comic Book Day on May 2.

⢠Hochul seeks to tie insurance proposal to support for farmers (timesunion.com) ā Gov. Kathy Hochul recently stopped at the Westmere Fire Department in Guilderland to sell her push for overhauling New Yorkās auto insurance laws, arguing towns could save on insuring emergency vehicles. Sheās also pitching the plan as relief for farmersā rising equipment costs, but many Democratic lawmakers remain unconvinced, contributing to the ongoing state budget delay.
