3D printing opens to the public at Half Hollow Hills Library, Dix Hills, NY

Library patrons can print 3D items, with a little help from Library staff members.

After the hugely successful trial visit last February, the Half Hollow Hills Community Library purchased their own Makerbot 5th Generation 3D printer and is opening it up to their library patrons today, by appointment only.  Library users may chose from a number of preselected items or get some guidance downloading a design from Thingiverse.com and then printing it out.  The cost is 50 cents per half hour of printing.  You can find more information or make an appointment online here: hhhlibrary.org/Services/3d-printing.php.
