HHH Collects 5,000 Items in Food Drive

The district celebrates Thanksgiving by giving back to the community.

Half Hollow Hills students helped approximately 70 neighboring families have a filling Thanksgiving after collecting thousands of food items in a district-wide food drive.

In total, the schools collected more than 5,000 cans and boxes between Nov. 1 and 16 and gave approximately 70 families in the area an overflowing box with all the necessary trimmings, including vegetables, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, boxed milk, stuffing, gravy and more.

As the holiday weekend approached, elementary school students enjoyed feasts, holiday plays, stories and more celebrations. Click through the PHOTO gallery to see these little pilgrims and Native Americans recreate the first Thanksgiving.
