
All five elementary schools in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District were ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in New York, which were based on 2017 rankings from Niche.com.
Here's how they placed:
- Vanderbilt Elementary School— No. 24
- Paumanok Elementary School— No. 49
- Otsego Elementary School— No. 64
- Signal Hill Elementary School— No. 68
- Sunquam Elementary School— No. 95
It was a big improvement for Half Hollow Hills elementary schools. In 2016, just two schools made the top 100.

The rankings accessed 48,625 public elementary schools and analyzed them based on academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and parents on Niche.com.
