Artist Wins Award for Embracing Jewish Roots

Graphic designer earns recognition for best poster in design competition.

One might call Jillian Beroza a real mensch.

The artist, who works for a public relations firm in Melville, is taking on the world of graphic design by adding a bissel of Jewish culture to her work and was recently honored with an award for her pieces.

Beroza who is the art director off Hilary JM Topper Communications (HJMT) earned an award from the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) for its 2011 poster contest. Her poster was selected from a record number of entries and will be used to announce and celebrate International Jewish Genealogy Month.
