Big Turnout for the Family Financial Fair at HHH Library

The Family Financial Fair was a hit at the Library.

Saturday, March 2nd the Half Hollow Hills Library created their 1st fair concerning financial topics for kids in grades K-5. The Children’s Librarians created twenty-five self-paced booths that enabled the children to understand topics that included budgeting, saving, charity, and coin recognition. The children attained many skills to help them live financially smart lives, including writing a check and learning to budget at the grocery store. There were 135 people in attendance and the feedback was positive as parents recognize the need for their children to be smart money managers. Teen volunteers helped assist at each booth. The fair was part of the Your Money Matters @ hhhlibrary.org. Funded in part by a grant from Capital One Bank’s Long Island Financial Literacy Challenge.
