For the last three years as I have been writing about golf, I have tried to figure out a way to include my Mother, Pauline (Polly) Alexander, in one of my stories. Her battle with the insidious Alzheimer’s disease, which she is losing badly just like everyone else, drags on interminably. And yet, I wouldn’t be writing about golf or competing in tournaments today if it weren’t for her. She spent hours sitting in her car while I hit balls as a junior golfer.
