NEFCU is honored to be a corporate partner of the 2013 Spring Games, and proud to support the athletes and coaches who've worked so diligently to prepare and train for this competition.

NEFCU, a leading credit union serving all of Long Island’s banking needs, is pleased to announce its support of the Special Olympics, Long Island Region Spring Games for the second year in a row. This year’s 2013 Spring Games will take place at Commack High School on Sunday, April 21st. The Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. and the competition begins at 10:30 a.m. We invite you to join us as we support the more than 1,000 athletes, coaches and volunteers by being a “fan in the stands” and cheering on these amazing athletes.

The Special Olympics is the largest amateur sports organization in the world providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. With over 55,000 athletes, Special Olympics New York is the largest chapter in North America and the 6th largest chapter in the world. Special Olympics New York athletes train and compete year-round in 22 sports at no cost to the athlete, their families or their caregivers.

Here at NEFCU we are honored to be a corporate partner of the 2013 Spring Games, and we are proud to support the athletes and coaches who have worked so diligently to prepare and train for this competition.

In addition to our sponsorship of the Spring Games, every Tuesday and Thursday starting April 2nd and leading up to the games on April 21st, NEFCU will highlight a competing athlete on our Facebook page and invite our “Likers” of the page to leave well wishes for the participant. For each “well wish,” we will donate an additional $1 to the Special Olympics. We hope you will join us and wish these athletes well as they prepare for the competition!

As always, NEFCU is committed to giving back the communities in which we live and work. As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary,  we acknowledge how important it is to support our local community.. The Special Olympics games exemplify how people from all walks of the community – students, residents and corporate partners  – can come together to support a cause, something we at NEFCU strongly believe in. We hope to see you on April 21st. Best of luck to all of the athletes.
