New App Turns Library into Live-brary

New mobile app for Library lets you download ebooks, place holds, learn a language, and more!

Suffolk County Libraries have a new mobile app and it is amazing! Here’s what’s now available:

  • Integrated OverDrive Free Downloads allows 2 click downloading of eBooks and eAudiobooks to your mobile device.  For instructions on setting up your device to use mobile OverDrive, click here to watch a video on the Live-brary.com Youtube channel.  The Digital My Account in the Free Downloads channel allows you to manage your OverDrive downloads.
  • Integrated Research full text content from Ebsco and Novelist and link to
    the Mango languages mobile interface.  Learn a language, find everything you need to know about authors, books, and reading suggestions, or do some research on the go.
  • BookLook by ISBN – scan or type an ISBN from any book and it launches a
    search in the catalog.  If someone in the County owns it, a hold can be placed.


You can also find the full county catalog for searching and placing holds on any item, and you can check your library account for activity on any card.
