See For Yourself 2012: An Assistive Technology and Resource Fair

Assistive technology fair for the blind and visually impaired.

On Friday, May 11th, Suffolk Cooperative Library System Outreach Services is holding SEE FOR YOURSELF 2012: An Assistive Technology and Resource Fair for People who are Blind or Visually Impaired, from 10 am to 4 pm in the Auditorium. You will be able to test and experience assistive technology for yourself and speak with experts in the field. The fair, which has attracted over 300 visitors in the past, is open to the public.   For more information, please email outreach@suffolk.lib.ny.us .

At our Dix Hills building, visually and learning disabled patrons may use our:

  • ZoomText-equipped Internet and word processing computer that magnifies and speaks
  • Upgraded Merlin magnifier/reader
  • Kurzweil Reader for magnification of reading materials
  • Listening Station for CD’s and audiocassettes that plays music or audiobooks
    (Please bring your own headphones)
