Car Rear-Ends School Bus With Child On Board In Melville
BREAKING: The driver of the car was hospitalized following the Friday morning crash, fire officials say.

A mini-school bus with a child passenger was rear-ended by a car Friday morning in Melville.
According to fire officials, the crash occurred on Wolf Hill Road and New York Avenue at 8:40 a.m. The driver of the car suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad.
The bus driver and the child were not injured, fire officials say.

About 20 Melville firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the crash with an ambulance, two heavy rescue trucks, fire police and a paramedic responder. Units were under the direction of Captain Tom Niemczyk.
